I obviously wanted to make a joke here of contrasting Jack Hall the angry rock and roller, to Jack Hall at his day job. In this case; teaching elementary school. Not exactly my joke as it is very much a nod to pro wrestler Matt Hyson aka Spike Dudley and this clip from Beyond the Mat:
There’s nothing funnier than someone who has a peaceful day job and a crazy night job.
Oh, so Jack Hall is also kind of a riff on Jack White. Thus, The White Stripes becomes Hall Monitor. The name of the band being a nod to the film, The Hall Monitor.
Best line in the whole movie: “It’s like you’re like my son. Except you’re white.”
