I have always loved monolithic and yet nearly abandoned structures. Radio towers, water towers, parking lots at night. A place where you can have that last lonely cigarette. I figured where else to hold a conversation between Bianca and her unnamed guest.
There’s something calming and proper to me about solitude, especially out in nature. Maybe its got something to do with growing up in semi-rural Maryland. I was always happiest when I could retreat to the small patches of forest around our town. It reminds me of all kinds of R.E.M. songs, and especially of this video.
I love this video and the entire series of optically printed videos they did for Reckoning. There’s something very human, very somber and very mysterious about seeing the band like this.
