So I kind of envisioned the artwork Jennet is making here as a cross between Junko Mizuno

And Chiho Aoshima

Fact: I once spent $200 to get a Chiho Ayoshima art book from France. Also I own all of the books Junko has put out over here.

As well you should! I love Junko Mizuno’s stuff, but somehow I only owned one of her books. The shame is all mine, believe you me.
But this page featuring Jennet’s work is sweet! Seriously, I feel like more thought and preparation has gone into the creation of your comic than the overwhelming majority of comics out there. The references run deeper than I’d thought. Good commentary!
Sorry to let you down here Darryl, but the real truth is I am always in a pinch for ways to fill the page. Ha ha. I just have such a LARGE and ever expanding category of reference that I am able to do alright in that respect.
I guess what makes it work is that I never do direct reference. I do take offs on Junko MIzuno and Chiho Ayoshima, but i never outright copy. Also Junko and Chiho (much like many of the references I have given away) are bordering on pretty obscure. So in the end it seems like I created something unique, but I will freely admit I am just making homage.
